So Methadone Treatment doesn’t work all by itself?
I think it is essential to not see methadone itself as a panacea. It will not put everything right in a person’s life.

If taken appropriately, it will reduce the cravings for opiate drugs - so that people don’t have to spend all day searching for morphine or for oxycodone.

They are then in a better position to attend to their rehabilitation needs - to get themselves back into the mainstream of society - and to learn how to live life responsibly and honestly.
