Recovery Learning Series
Recovery is learning to enjoy life - without the use
of alcohol or drugs that alter mind or mood.
It is treatment for the condition of addiction – an approach to the challenges of life – and a path to personal growth.
The Principles of Recovery counteract
the sick tendencies of addiction – and provide direction – to the choices that we face each day.
The first three Principles of Recovery - Honesty, Opennes and Willingness - are often referred to as the HOW of recovery.
Talk honestly about where you are at right now. Listen to the experience of others. And be willing to try a new way today.
The healing Ways of Recovery are drawn from the experience
of others – from spiritual traditions and current
treatment strategies.
Talking with others, journal writing, meditation or prayer – helping a friend or learning to say ‘No’ – may all be examples of the Healing Ways of Recovery.
The Ways of Recovery provide tools - helping us to
enjoy life on life's terms.
The SupportNet Recovery Learning Series offers educational seminars to help you understand these and other topics of recovery.
Each topic includes an Audio Annotated Slide Show and Notes Handbook. Or use the SupportNet Audio Player at the top of each Learning Series page. Sit back - listen and learn. |
