Is there really such a thing as Later Recovery?
No - there is not. This topic is discussed separately - to remind us that certain risks persist - or may recur - for an indefinite time in recovery. The option to trip up is always at hand.

Issues of complacency and pride are not even unique to those who have been abstinent for an extended period of time. They are common and everyday challenges to early - and all other days in recovery.

My condition of recovery is where I am at within myself right at this moment. Am I doing what I need to do right now - to enjoy a perspective on life that is emotionally healthy and spiritually fit? Or am I allowing myself to be pulled into stressful conditions of worry, shame, fear and dishonesty?

Your question is a good one. The topic of Later Recovery is useful - to discuss those ways that we can always be distracted from what is most important to our life. But recovery itself works best when I am mindful of its moment to moment experience within myself - regardless of how many days I have chosen to not run off.

I’ve been told I’m either on a path of recovery - or a path of relapse. At first - relapse seems the easy way - and it’s the way that pulls at you. But over time - I’ve come to realize that recovery is the much easier way to live with myself.
