Does Paws occur in recovery from any addiction?
It is well known to occur in those recovering from alcohol, opiate, cocaine and mixed substance addiction. It is not so clear that it occurs in recovery from behavioural addictions - sex, relationship or gambling addictions.
I was diagnosed with Attention Deficit when I was young. I’m clean of coke and pills for two months - and my head is all over the place. I start too many things - don’t finish - and get confused if I get pressured. Is this ADD all over again?
Post Acute Withdrawal can mimic or worsen symptoms of Attention Deficit. Time will usually sort out which is what - or a professional opinion may help. But all of the things that you mention are common and consistent with Paws.
Either way - time in recovery - a healthy routine of day to day life - and participation in recovery activities will all help over time.
