I always did - what I wanted to do - no matter who got hurt. I have come to believe that if I put one hand in God and the other in my program - my needs will always be looked after. Selfishness was the root of my problem. Thinking of others keeps me out of my own head.

I've started over from nothing so many times - Always thougth I had to do it on my own - that always meant doing things my way - and my way always got me right back to square one in the end. It wasn't until I started to listen - to the experience of others - and to do things differently - even when I didn't want to do so - that I finally found a straight path in recovery.
