So much of my life has been spent elsewhere - me in one place - with my head in some other place or time. I was never in the day - just being here right now.

I have to remember One Day at a Time - about a thousand times a day. But I'm better at staying in the moment now - constant self talk and mindfulness meditation have helped me with this. I now see this phrase as a deep spiritual truth - that is a cornerstone of my recovery.
