SupportNet has produced a series of Recovery Posters - that Clinic 528 and others display in their wait rooms and other clinical areas.

As clients attend for their physician assessment or lab testing - they are often seen reading the posters - and which have proven a most effective way to communicate the basic principles of addiction recovery.

Each full sized poster is 24 x 34 inches and printed to quarter inch fiberboard. You can mouse click on each image - to see a larger display.

Our first poster translates the traditional recovery principles of Honesty - Opennenss and Willingness (HOW) - into practical meanings - for day to day interaction with professionals and peers.

Clients who do nothing more than adhere to these principles - can progress in their recovery at lightening speed.

Our 'HALT' poster reminds clients of the need for balance in recovery - and of the relapse dangers of allowing themselves to become Too Hungry - Angry - Lonely or Tired.

Many of today's clients in methadone treatment expect and deserve - not just maintenance in their sickness - but basic education about the means and ways to recover from their condition.

SupportNet's Recovery Posters have proven an effective way to simply communicate the basic principles of recovery - to what is commonly a pressured and impatient clinical group.

Our Principles of Recovery poster is displayed in all clinical areas of Clinic 528. Clients facing difficult life choices can immediatly find direction by its brief review.

Most basic to recovery communication is the priciples to 'Always Use the I Word' - meaning to avoid second hand gossip or talk of others - and to only and always talk of one's personal experience in addiction and recovery.

Talking About Others - Gossip - Blame - the Giving of Advice and Co-Dependent habits of interaction all serve the same purpose - to sidestep confrontation with ourself.

To talk only of personal experience grounds us within our self right now - and avoids the emotional dissipation that inevitably results from an attentional focus on the conduct of others.

Our 'Addiction Tree' poster graphically illustrates the myriad of problems that derive from an addictive lifestyle.

Its aim is to counteract the tendency - of clients and many caregivers - to focus only on the secondary consequences of addiction - and to not address what is at the root of so many of the presenting clinical circumstances - Active Addiction.

It is always amazing - and wonderful to see - how so much of the mess of active addiction - will gradually dissolve away - once a client adopts the traditional priciples and ways of recovery into their life.

More so than any others - I see clients reading our 'Recovery or Relapse Behavior' poster.

This is one that they seem to get - maybe because it clearly and simply describes day to day behaviors - that will lead a client in the direction of repeated replapse - or into recovery from their addiction.

Maybe not exactly a Recovery Poster - but our 'Recovery Learning Series' poster is displayed in our waiting areas - directing clients to further information on each of twenty-seven basic topics of recovery learning.

Our Recovery Learning Series is designed to simply communicate the basic educational topics of any residential treatment program. Its all there - and its all online - free to read - or to sit back and listen to our streaming audio play.
