First Things First -
Start with those strategies that you have found most helpful.
Place these first on your list.
Begin with What You Know
- A time of upset or crisis is not the time to try out new
things. Call upon your ‘tried and true’ skills.
These are what belong on your list.
Keep it Simple - Nothing
complicated or confusing belongs on your Planner.
Make the Planner Yours
- List only those things that work for you. Music that you
find soothing - Your favorite relaxation tape - Your most
enjoyable exercise.
Be Specific - Write
the name and telephone number of your designated support
contact. Write out a specific affirmation or self-calming
phrase. Describe your ‘soothing place’ with
detail.
